The Lord's Day

Hello! I love Sunday. It was a lazy day around here today. Antonio finished his very first chapter book. It's about time. He just wanted to read shorter books that he can read all at once. He didn't understand the concept of reading a couple chapters at a time, putting a bookmark in to hold your place, and come back and read more later. Now that he knows how to do that, he's really going to take off with his reading. He is starting the Magic Tree House books series. He started with number 11, Lions at Lunchtime. They are about Jack and Annie who have a tree house that takes them on adventures around the globe. The books are filled with facts about the subject they are written about, which I like. I plan on getting him the series up to book number 28. The ones after that are all about wizardry, and as a Christian, we will have none of that.
Kate took two naps that she desperately needed, as I had her down to one long nap last week, just to see how it went. Not sure about that yet. Tonight for dinner, she had a few slivers of roast, green beans cut into tiny pieces, and some macaroni and cheese noodles. As a back up, I fed her baby cereal with fruit, then at bedtime she drank a 5oz. bottle. She was full and sleepy and went to bed at 7:30pm.
Devin is having a hard time lately. I don't know if it's fall out from this last episode or what, but his attitude stinks! He talks back, makes messes on purpose, and is being a real hard head! I don't know what to do with him except to offer him extra love and forgiveness. After what he just went through, I don't know how I'd act either.

A Funny Thing About Store Bought Bread
In the newspaper I get every week, The Budget, an Amish and Mennonite paper, they have a section called Ponderings and Musings from Budgetland. Someone wrote in this week about buying store bought bread. She gives us this tip about buying the freshest bread.

"When yougo to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which is the freshest, so you squeeze for freshness or softness? Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different color twist tie. They are: Monday=blue, Tuesday=green, Thursday=Red, Friday=white, and Saturday=yellow. So it today was Thursday, you would want the red twist tie; not white which was Friday's (almost a week old!) The colors go alphabetically by color; blue, green, red, white, yellow, Monday through Saturday. Very easy to remember. I thought this was interesting, so I looked in the grocery store and the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the ones with the plastic clips have different colors. You learn something new every day! Enjoy fresh bread when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping."

Isn't that a neat tip? I can't wait to get to the store to check this out for myself!

Have a good night.
