Thank you so much for the awesome D.C. travel tips. We're staying in Camp Springs MD about 2 mins. from a metro stop. I know nothing about that area, but it was the cheapest hotel I could find close to a metro stop! :)
Once we get int the city we're considering the National Park Service shuttle and/or walking (depends on the weather). We've got tickets to the White House and an appt. at the Capitol, so we're very excited about that.
I'm glad you mentioned the zoo. I was torn about whether we should try for that or not. Sounds like it's really great though, so we'll try to make it a priority.
